It's All About The Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar also known as ACV is big in the health world, but why? You have probably heard the claims but this could be one easy health hack that may improve your already awesome life!

White vinegar has been used for years to clean things and preserve food due to its ability to deodorise and tackle bacteria. ACV is much the same, it has powerful healing compounds which include enzymes, probiotics and acetic acid. It can kill many types of bacteria and it is great as a food preservative.

ACV has been used with patients who have type 2 diabetes as it has been shown to have a positive effect on improving insulin sensitivity and it can also help to lower blood sugar levels after meals. The ability to lower our blood sugar also helps to keep us feeling fuller for longer, an amazing benefit if you are looking for a cheeky hand in the weight loss department.

ACV can help you to balance out the PH level of the body and can also help to detoxify your body; it is good for your gut, helping to encourage the growth of good bacteria. However, you need to be aware that it is important to cut out refined sugar and processed foods in your diet in order to enable this benefit to work.

When looking to purchase ACV make sure you buy organic, unfiltered and unpasteurised as this allows you to get all the benefits. If it is cloudy then don't be put off, this is good. This is what we want! It means the ACV is full of the good bacteria and enzymes we need.

So the big question then, if you are still reading you are probably wondering how you can take ACV? Do you add it to your chips? Well you could do, but the ideas below could be a better way of getting this bad boy into your diet:

  1. The most popular way to add ACV to your daily routine is to take a teaspoon in the morning in a glass of water with some honey. This will help to cleanse your digestive system and can help to clear up your skin.
  2. Use it in a salad dressing.
  3. Use it in a marinade for your meet or fish.
  4. Add it to a juice or smoothie.
  5. ACV can be used to rinse your fruit and vegetables to get rid of any harmful bacteria and pesticides.

What a wild child! Give it a go and see if you can get any of the benefits, its another small change that could have a big impact on your health.
