This groovy green powder is finely ground from special grown green tea. The powder comes from the actual leaves of the green tea which is hand selected, steamed and then dried and aged before being ground down into the vibrant green powder we know as Matcha.

Its very green but Matcha Tea is such a great way to get some clean energy!

Matcha is an awesome source of nutrients due to the way it is harvested as we take in the whole leaf. It is rich in antioxidants which fight off free radicals (pesky molecules which cause damage in our bodies) and the polyphenol compounds within the matcha help to boost our metabolism which in turn helps our body to burn fat. Matcha also contains something called 'catechin EGCG' which is hailed to have potent cancer fighting properties.

There are so many ways to drink and eat matcha, I love a matcha latte with almond or coconut milk!

Matcha does contain caffeine, but unlike regular tea and coffee something called the L-Theanine content within the matcha boosts energy levels and allows you to feel a different kind of alert. L-Theanine helps with the production of dopamine and serotonin (known as our happy chemicals) improving mood, memory and increasing concentration. Matcha does not have the side effects of caffeine such as nervousness and hypertension, it provides clean energy.

So, be wild, be adventurous and don't let the crazy green colour put you off! Try a matcha tea or a matcha latte or even a matcha cake! Let me know what you think!
