Celery Juice - The New Morning Routine?

Anybody who knows me will be aware that I am a huge advocate of juicing, the benefits are unbelievable! Especially when we live in an age where most people struggle to get their fruit and vegetables everyday and therefore miss the essential micronutrients our bodies need to function optimally.

The new ‘craze’ you may have seen from many on social media is celery juice. Yep, that’s right. The humble celery! Why? Take a look below:

  • Celery is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory foods as it starves the unproductive bacteria, yeast, fungus and viruses within the body and flushes their toxins and waste out of the intestinal tract and liver.

  • Celery helps the good bacteria thrive. In addition, by ridding the body of the unproductive bacteria, yeast and viruses it starts to help reduce the inflammation in our bodies. It starves the pathogens which lead to hundreds of different symptoms and conditions of autoimmune diseases!

  • Celery is technically a herb! (I know, you learn something new every day!) It alkalises the gut as it is high in bioactive sodium which raises the bodies pH levels and rids it of the toxic acids.

  • Celery cleanses and repairs your intestinal lining, this will allow you to absorb more nutrients from the food you eat, getting the nutrition into every cell of your body.

  • Celery is at its most powerful when you drink it on its own as it starts to act differently when mixed in a green juice with apples, cucumber, coriander etc. Anthony William (aka the medical medium) is the originator of the celery juice movement and he advises to drink it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for best effects and then wait at least 15 minutes before you eat!

Can one addition to your diet improve everything? It’s worth a try, from today, I am starting my day with a glass of pure celery juice! I will keep you posted!

Oh and one final tip - celery is one of the vegetables (or herbs as we now know) which is often covered pesticides and toxins during the growing process, so organic is advised or wash your celery well with apple cider vinegar if you don’t buy organic.
