Hi Guys & Welcome!

No Gym No Problem

No Gym No Problem

January, the month of New Year Resolutions, the new you, the promises to make changes to your diet and fitness after the festive period. This is the time every gym hopes you will sign up for a membership, knowing most of the members will not use the gym after February!

So what are the options? Have you thought about getting into a regular routine and habit of fitness training before you commit an expensive monthly payment to a gym? There are so many workouts you can do at home or outside for absolutely no money at all! Keep that hard earned cash in your bank and get fit at the same time!

Not only are there thousands of workouts to follow on YouTube and Instagram, there is also the opportunity to join a Park Run on a Saturday morning, explore the great outdoors by foot (running or walking) or on a bike. You can get a little kit to train at home or you can do a lot of workouts with just your own bodyweight!

The most important thing about getting fit is to find something you love to do. For many it could be a team sport, so going to join a sports club for both the physical activity and social benefits, however you may prefer the escapism of a walk or a yoga class. It could be a great opportunity to get outside with the family, make it a weekly activity you all do together. The options are huge, you do not just have to join a gym!

Lifestyle and behaviour change is only successful when it becomes a habit and we usually develop and stick to habits that we enjoy or feel the benefit from. So find the physical activity you enjoy! Make small changes, you may just go for a walk at lunch every day or you may just do some stretching each morning, keep it up, make it a habit then start to build on that habit.

If you want to train at home or you want to add some bodyweight training to your walk or run in the park or forest, try some of the exercises below. You can do them at home, in the garden or when you are out running or walking to break the route up and add some strength training in.

Have fun! Mix it up and give me a shout if you need any support or ideas!
