Powder Turns For The Guys On The Slopes In Western USA!
We live in a fabulous part of the Western USA where winter snow sports are very accessible. As keen skiers, we were excited when Fay agreed to help us prepare for the upcoming ski season.
She tailor made a 12-week fitness program for us with an emphasis on skiing mobility and endurance.
The program allowed flexibility to work at your own pace and fit the exercise sessions into a busy work and family schedule. The program was clearly written and easy to follow. The aims and ethos were well explained.
For the once weekly HIIT session we hired the exercise room at our local gym and invited friends and fellow skiers to come and join our family session.
The HIIT sessions went really well with everyone working at their own pace but pushing and challenging themselves a little more with the encouragement of others.
The format of the weekly HIIT sessions and the exercises were varied and interesting. We always finished with the proprioception exercises which were challenging but really fun. If there was an exercise we were unsure of we sent a quick text to Fay and she sent us a video with the correct form that the exercise should take.
No doubt we were all stronger and ready to go at the beginning of the ski season. Fit enough to ski runs top to bottom from the get go!
Personally, I felt more confident in my skiing ability and dare I say it a little more agile!
The friends that joined us for the once a week HIIT session all reported feeling stronger at the start of the season and are keen to do it again next year! Many thanks Fay.
