Kandahar Ski Club Prepare For The Season!
Fitness levels within ski racing or skiing in general are an incredibly important factor that many people over look when thinking about performance within the sport. A small increase in strength and power leads to a noticeable difference in performance on the slopes. Coupled with the endurance training meaning you can go all day on the slopes maintaining a high level is critical for ski racing.
We approached Fay to put together a fitness plan that would aid our athletes during the summer season and enable them to hit the ground running when the winter season kicks off.
Fay also worked with our coaches, providing fitness manuals they could use to help decide what session off the hill was appropriate to manage fatigue levels after skiing.
The pre-season training and manuals have given our athletes the kick start they needed and we’re looking forward to the first races coming up.
