Jon Is Dominating The Road and Enduro!
Having flirted with various cycling disciplines over the past 4 years, including Road, Track, XC and Enduro, I decided that I needed to focus on training specifics to get better at one or two disciplines.
Whilst I enjoy racing on the road, and strangely get a buzz from being in the red racing XC, I have the most fun competing in Enduro. The stresses that Enduro places on the body encompass so much more than most other disciplines. I would class myself as a half decent climber and strong enough to hold on in the descents, but no good enough at either to really progress.
I had previously read about Fays exploits in the Enduro World Series and thought, who better to approach for training. After a few exchanges of emails, Fay came up with a personal, and very detailed 14 week programme. The initial 4 weeks focussed on base level strength and conditioning, ready for a step up in tempo for the remainder of the programme.
I had a new found motivation to complete the days programming, the structure and variety keeps it interesting and moreover, I’m starting to see results.
I recently placed 5th Hardtail category in the PMBA Enduro Series at Grizedale and just last week, promoted from Cat 4 to Cat 3 on the road after a 5th and a 2nd place respectively.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season goes and I will be approaching Fay to further my training.
I would highly recommend Fay to anyone with sporting aspirations, or just to improve their health and wellbeing.
